I am not a writer by trade but by choice. I went to school for business management/computer networking and after being in the field for several years I decided it was time for a change. I then created a website called MyMorningJoe.com where I learned how to write.
I can say that even though I started writing I had to rekindle my love for reading. With my reading library of both physical and digital books comprised of mostly business books. I had books like Freakonomics by Stephen J. Dubner and Steven D. Levitt,The Art of Non-Conformity/The $100 Startup by Chris Guillebeau, and The 4-Hour Work Week by Tim Ferriss.
I then started to look at other books both classic and new to help spur me forward in my fictional writing. I use to read H.G Wells when I was younger but I decided to open myself up to a wider array of styles and genres.
From the classics I choose books like Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck, Big Fish by Daniel Wallace, and Flowers for Algernon by Daniel Keyes. I then jumped into high Sci Fi with the book Avogadro Corp by William Hertling, and alot of the works from Philip K Dick’s short stories and novels.
While reading all of these works of writing art I was busy writing my first novel Project Orphan: The Forsaken. This story is my pride and joy and I hope that it will make it on the must read list of millions around the world. And that one day my work can be just as well known as the authors I listed above.
